Preparation For Eternal Life - A Right Spiritual Attitude

In the Bible we see in the 48th Psalm a majestic part of the Old Testament book of praise, homage and devotion. It contains component parts of the nature of our Creator. Contemplating on the scope of our joyous association with God baffles our minds to realize that heaven really cares for our needs and blesses our hearts.

Every provision has been made for our successful pilgrimage upon the earth. The Bible tells us that our God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. Though He created the world and all things that are in it, yet we maintain a very personal touch with Him - the One who is from everlasting to everlasting. What a unique arrangement that we can walk hand in hand with our Maker! We rejoice in the dynamic words of Psalm 124:8, "Our help is in the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth". God truly is worthy of our praise.

The shortest chapter in the Bible reminds us to praise the Lord always. It enjoins us to praise the Lord, because of His merciful kindness that is great toward us, and His truth that endures for ever. Indeed, we all need to praise the Lord. God is, to be sure, worthy of such homage!

One ingredient missing in most lives today is holiness, or godliness, yet, without such, no man shall see God. We must, as the old song demands, "take time to be holy". In the august presence of Jehovah, the prophet Isaiah expressed awe and reverence of the "Lord of Sabaoth" - the ruler of the army of heaven!

What a marvelous refuge is ours in the shadow of His wings! When friends of earth fail and sadden us, we find solace in the benevolent hands of a righteous God. Never will His love fail us, nor will heaven's gracious provisions diminish as we pursue the way of righteousness. When we meditate upon the loving-kindness and the mercy of the Lord, we truly stand amazed. It is incomparable and unfathomed by men of earthly substance. How a sinless God can consider the desperate needs of shameful mankind boggles the mind. God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. We must, therefore, gratefully instill within each generation a deep appreciation for the mighty power of the One who is our bulwark and fortress against Satan's clever devices.

When we walk in the path our Saviour trod, and allow Him to be our guide forever, even unto death, we wisely accept the only leadership that is worthy of our consideration. Let us continue in appreciation of God's inestimable love to us!
