Pregnancy is one of the most desired phases of a woman's life. Your body begins to change with the growing child within you and unfortunate for some this can cause some unpleasantness as well. Some women will go through a lot of ups and downs during their pregnancy; problems such as tenderness of breasts, headaches, morning sickness and in particularly the nausea commonly observed during pregnancy. Pregnancy nausea is the number one most common discomfort during pregnancy. Pregnancy nausea remedies may be helpful in overcoming and possibly even preventing this condition.

Here are some of the most effective pregnancy nausea remedies:

• Eat smaller meals: Eating in moderation will keep the blood sugar levels under control. Large fluctuations in blood sugar is known to cause nausea and vomiting.

• Eliminate carbohydrates during evening meals and late night snacks. Carbohydrates turn to sugar quickly and elevate blood sugar levels.

• Increase protein in your diet. Proteins maintain a constant blood sugar level and help to sustain energy. Have protein snacks before going to bed in order to help prevent morning sickness.

• Avoid complex carbohydrates and refined grains such as sugar and pasta. These foods give little if any nutritional value and they only lower your blood sugar levels. Substitute with whole wheat bread, whole grains and pastas.

• Nausea can be caused by dehydration. It is extremely important to prevent dehydration. You should have at least 2.5 liters of fluids everyday with the majority of that being water. You may also have herbal teas that may alleviate morning sickness symptoms and unsweetened juices during the day.

• Avoid caffeine, soft drinks, sugary drinks and other beverages during pregnancy.

• Avoid odors, tastes or textures that trigger your nausea. There are some scented oils available that may help you in overcoming these sensitive odors.

• Ginger is outstanding in alleviating and preventing nausea; this is a clinically proven fact. You may find ginger ale, ginger snaps, ginger in the form of capsule and also ginger tea useful.

• Acupressure is also very effective and is a unique pregnancy nausea remedy.

• Avoid foods that may cause gas, acidity and bloating. If these situations occur and they will you may drink a carbonated beverage to help eliminate the gas just don't make it a regular practice.

• Avoid spicy foods: Too much oil and spices may create nausea.

• B6 supplements seem to help prevent morning sickness

• Do not take your medicines or supplements on empty stomach.

• Get plenty of rest: The lack of sleep can bring on the feeling of nausea.

• Digestive enzymes may be prescribed by your OB/GYN for nausea relief. Constant indigestion can also create problems for your baby.

• Get plenty of exercise: Do not allow carbon dioxide to build up in your system as this could lead to further problems. Instead practice cardiovascular activities like swimming and walking to keep you fitter and healthier.

• Hypnotherapy has been extremely helpful in relieving morning sickness, nausea and vomiting. The relaxation and breathing techniques used during the therapy have other benefits as well.

Don't let pregnancy nausea ruin this beautiful moment in your life. Unfortunately there is not a magic bullet for morning sickness, not any one of these remedies works for everyone. You will need to experiment to find out the best fit for you. As always, advise your doctor of your activities and seek out his/her advise before adding any of these remedies to your daily activities.
