Preen designers Thea Bregazzi and Justin Thornton have recently confirmed they are launching a new line in children's clothes - Mini Preen.
The British designers who are partners in life and work have a two year old daughter who has surely influenced the decision to start the new range and sparked the desire to design cool and practical items for children. Mini Preen is bound to be a huge hit with fashionistas and the pair may well have taken note of Stella McCartney's extremely successful collection for Gap Kids. In fact they are walking a well travelled path. Braching out into childrenswear seams to be very fashionable at the moment amongst British fashion designers as Issa will be launching Baby Issa in November which is bound to be a success with its pretty printed dresses. And the list goes on with Paul Smith expanding their range with the launch of Paul Smith Junior which is due to be in stores by September.
This isn't the first side line the British pair have started. They recently collaborated with Gieves and Hawkes to create their new Autumn Winter 2011 collection, the collection borrows heavily from menswear fashion and has a very masculine feel and will no doubt give all the Preen fans something to wear to work.
Preen have also collaborated with Egypt based designer Azza Fahmy to create a line of jewellery that will be launched this September. Azza Fahmy took inspiration for this new collection from lace samples supplied by Thea Bregazzi and Justin Thornton.
For the moment though there is no confirmed date for the launch of the new Preen childrens wear line. When there is you can expect a waiting list that will far exceed the supply.
