Power of Belief and Positive Thinking

Have you ever looked at someone who you felt really had it together and wondered how they were able to be so successful, so happy and so wealthy? For many people, their first instinct is to claim that their acquaintance gets all the luck. However, if you maintain this perspective, you will continue to find these positive life experiences that you desire elusive. Instead, you need to change your perspective and tap into the power of belief and positive thinking. The old cliché saying you can achieve anything you believe sticks around for one good reason: it is still as true as the day it was coined. Often, the only thing holding people back is their lack of belief and a poor attitude. This principle is complicated in its simplicity, and for this reason, many people find it difficult to take advantage of. However, harnessing this power of belief is possible.

Make the Paradigm Shift

The concept of paradigm shift is something that is regularly touted in psychological circles. However, few people have really had it explained in an easy-to-understand way. A paradigm shift is the act of changing the way that you look at things from the inside out. When it comes to the power of belief and positive thinking, your paradigm shift opens your mind to the fact that you are not stuck with reacting to things in your environment. Rather, you can begin to not only recognize, but create, the opportunities that you so desire. You are not a victim of circumstances; you have the power to claim your own circumstances. Just recognizing this fact will unlock the power of positive thinking and create a snowball effect of positive events in your life.

What About Religious Belief?

Many people inherently find the concept of positive thinking appealing. However, for some devout believers, they feel that this power of belief conflicts with their religious upbringing. After all, if you claim that what you do can impact what your life experience is, aren't you leaving your God out of the picture? Absolutely not! Deity creates us all to be intentional beings. Everything that you are capable of is the result of the Power that created you. If you are still unconvinced that the power of belief and positive thinking is in harmony with religion, pull out your own scriptures. Whether you are Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or any number of other religions, there is support for this principle in all religions. Surely you remember hearing the scripture quoted that alludes to having enough faith to move mountains. This is a powerful analogy that shows what the human mind is capable of, with the help of a powerful God. Faith is nothing more than belief, coupled with intense action: positive thinking applied. You aren't taking God out of the picture; rather, you are partnering with Him.

Train Your Thoughts

You have the ability to be your own best friend or your own worst enemy. Every person goes about their business with a subconscious internal dialogue going on. You can begin to recognize what it is that is running through this mental recording and use it to your advantage. If you are constantly telling yourself that you are unlucky and incompetent, your subconscious mind will seek the experiences that prove this assessment correct. The same thing happens if your thoughts are of a more positive nature. Recognize your thought process, notice when you are falling into negativity and actively change to a more positive dialogue. This will seem forced at first, but as new habits develop, it will become effortless to attract good things by the power of belief and positive thinking.
