The escalator is covered and some parts are of the type you would see at an airport, so there are no steps to walk up. It gradually climbs uphill and is generally thought of as a moving sidewalk or pavement. The good news is that there are plenty of shops and places to visit along its length, so you really could spend the whole day exploring the area the escalator runs through.

The escalator certainly gives you a different view of the city, but you can also get a view from the waters of Victoria Harbour. The famous Star Ferry should be an essential part of any stay in Hong Kong, as it enables you to get some stunning photos of the city from a different perspective.

You can take a tour of the harbour on one of their ferries, which is of a 1920's design. What's more, you can take to the waters during the day and at night, when the sun has gone down. If you can, try and do both as you will get two completely different experiences!

Getting to Hong Kong in the first place is quite easy. There are countless flights to Hong Kong available and there are plenty of places to stay in as well. You might even be able to stay in a high rise hotel that gives you a unique view every time you wake up in the morning.
