It is difficult for a woman to know instinctively how to dress so as to look good considering style, color and material. A plus size woman should not cover her body with baggy and shapeless dresses that might look like a tent. This will make the woman feel less sexy and will also prominently reveal the parts of her body that she does not wish to show.
You must be prepared to be patient when you are in the store trying on garments and looking for just the right one. If you don't turn up anything suitable one day, go again next week. Keep searching for the dress that's really meant for you and makes you feel like a movie star. Consider asking a pal to go along, one who's a real clothes horse and who knows something about dressing to fit your particular form.
Never settle for just any dress. Why should you? You deserve so much better than that! Look for a plus size dress that flatters your curves and makes your face glow and your eyes look bright. When trying on dresses, always check yourself out in the full-length mirror from a number of different angles. Leave no style stone unturned. Ask yourself how you feel wearing the dress. Does it make you feel good about your shape? Do you feel sexy? Do you feel feminine? If it looks good AND feels good then you know you have found an excellent fit.
The most appealing outfit for a voluptuous woman is a well-fitting dress. An A-line dress is the perfect choice for plus sized women. This dress is designed to flare where the body naturally widens, giving a natural flowing appearance. The A-line is closely fitted to the top half, and flares slightly at midsection. This gives the appearance of a slimmer waistline, which is of course what every woman wants. To draw attention to the legs, wear a flirty, short A-line dress in the day, or you can wear something longer and more dramatic for a night on the town.
For the little black dress of every woman's wardrobe, rest assured that it does not have to be so little to qualify as a LBD! There are different styles to choose from but one that is more fitted at the waistline and then flares out at the bottom will give you a sleeker, more streamlined shape while still showing off the curves. Look for a little black dress with an empire waist. Whatever you do, avoid dresses that hug the body too tightly. Another fashion taboo is to buy a dress that hangs or drapes off the body.
It is important to celebrate your body no matter what your size and to appreciate what it does for you as opposed to looking at it in terms of what it lacks. Be proud of your sensuous curves. Find a style of dress that works well for you and then own that style.
