Expert Author Mila Stewart

So what if you are larger than an average sized woman? There's nothing to worry, nor feel inferior about being over sized at all. You can still be as attractive as other women are and much more, you have all the right to look your best and most sensual attire. Others think that they don't care what people would say as long as they are comfortable with themselves. But it's not always true.

We dress up ourselves, choose good outfits, and try to make ourselves sexy not only to be comfortable but to look good, attractive and impress others. Whether it is consciously or unconsciously, that's the psychology of it.

This is the very reason why some oversized women get depressed for thinking that they don't look good. Actually this is not only because they don't look good according to the way they look at themselves but the way they think others would look at them. This is what many, if not all over sized women are worried about.

During the time of the Victorian and Edwardian era in the 1920's, corsets were designed to make women look slimmer. They make a plus sized women look sexier in a corset that emphasizes her curves hence projecting a fabulous body figure.

If the problem of oversized women when it comes to looking good has been solved during the early ages, think about the enhancements that should have come up in today's era. Aside from cultural evolution and deviation in the way over sized people are frowned upon, there is great evolution in terms of fashion and designs and also in terms of countering generally conceived undesirable looks and converting them instead into more fashionable ones.

Today, there are plus sized corsets designed to shrink an oversized body. Hence making larger women feel great and of course, look good in it. The fact that almost everything today is found in the internet, looking for corsets or bustiers that make you look and feel great is just a click away!

Here is a list of the available corset types:

  • Overbust Corsets
  • Underbust corset
  • Floral tapestry corsets
  • Leather Corsets with Zipper (front, back or side zipper)
  • "Southern Belle" style
  • Vinyl / Patent Leather Corsets
  • Velvet Short Corset
  • Long sleeve lace bustiers Satin Corsets Strapless bustiers

Of course all these styles and designs are available as plus sizes too. And usually corsets look the best on a curvy, full figure woman.

Please keep in mind that corset size selection is very important, so it needs to feel really tight if you wear it. As a rule of thumb it should be smaller in size than the actual size of the waist. Ex for a 34-inch waist needs 30-inch to 32-inch corset. Putting on the corset for the first time requires it to be laced tightly.
