One technique I have practiced a few times to make changes in myself and my life is to become an actor. I see myself accepting the part of a character in a movie and I rehearse for that scene. I have to really become that character in the same way actors rehearse their scenes for a movie or television show. I use visualization daily as a technique to accomplish this.
If there is some aspect of yourself that you do not like, change it. Do not make the mistake of saying "this is just how I have always been, I cannot change." The truth is you can change. Change your belief of yourself into one that matches up with who you desire to be. Choose the character you wish to portray and act it out on the stage of your mind. It is really easier than you think. Repetition of the new behavior will override the old within a short period of time.
I have used this technique with several of my clients and the results are amazing. Hypnosis, EFT (emotional freedom techniques) and Visualization are some tools you can use to make these changes more effortless. But it only works if you choose for it to work. You must have an open mind and be willing to put forth the effort. Making any kind of changes will always require effort which is why a lot of people quit before seeing results. Make a commitment to yourself that you will do whatever it takes to make those changes and I promise you that your reward will be well worth all that hard work.
