Is it possible to learn to play piano fast? Many expert pianists would say no. There are, however, things that you can do to speed up the process.

The Tips You Need To Play Piano Fast

Many of the best pianists in the world have taken years to get there. Make no mistake, you will not be an expert pianist next week, next month, or possibly even next year. That being said, there are a few steps you can take to accelerate your progress and improve your learning experience.

First, take a look at your posture. If you watch a professional pianist, you can see that he keeps his back very straight. This is because, long ago, he learned that posture affects your playing ability. Without proper posture, you will not be able to learn basic techniques, or implement them correctly and comfortably. If you want to know how to learn piano fast, correct your posture. You will feel the difference.

First, imagine that you are sitting down to play the piano. See yourself as a giraffe, and your long neck gives you the ability to reach the ceiling with your head. Now, stretch out your arms out at your sides until your upper arms are parallel to the floor. At this point, you can imagine that you are stretching your wings to take flight.

At this point, you should direct your attention to your fingers. Move them around like a spider moves its legs. Do this as you bring your hands together on the piano keys in front of you. Remember that you must be relaxed and confident. Act as if you are a professional, and you do not make mistakes. Not only will this improve your attitude, it will improve your posture, as well.

At this point, you should be sitting with your back straight and your elbows in front of your stomach. Make sure that you stretch your arms until your fingers are on the keys. Never move your body forward. Act as if you are glued to your seat.

You will notice, within this exercise, there is a great deal of imagery. This is a powerful tool for anyone. Eventually, you will become what you see yourself as. This will allow your posture and playing to become more natural.

During your next practice session, try this exercise before you begin. If followed correctly, it can certainly help you learn how to play piano fast. Posture is one of the starting points to accelerated learning, and it will make your playing more comfortable and natural.

Is there a shortcut to learning the piano? Unfortunately, no. Piano takes years of practice to truly master, and lessons must be constantly reviewed until they become second nature. These tips will, however, give you a good base to start from. Follow this exercise until it becomes second nature, as well, and it will almost definitely accelerate your learning.
