You need to determine the needs of the business before choosing an employee development program. What are areas that employees need to be more efficient in? Determine areas within the organization that can use improvements before you decide on different types of training. This will help you choose training classes that will benefit the company as a whole. Also be sure that the training you choose is something the employee will be interested in doing. This might require you to make a decision as to which employees will work on which improvement processes and then schedule the training accordingly.
Always start an employee development program small. Don't have an entire organization go through training at once because you don't even know if the training is going to be effective or if you have chosen the right instructors. Choose a small test group for training and be sure that it works. Once it is successful then you can roll out the training with the entire organization.
