Planets Mnemonic - First lets look at the order of planets in our solar system starting with the closest to the sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and finally Neptune. So to remember this list in order we can create an easy to remember phrase, where the first letter of each word in the phrase corresponds to the planet. The letters we need in our phrase are M V E M J S U, so we could use "My Very Excellent Mother Just Served Us Nachos". You can try create your own as well following this simple example. Another one could be "Many Very Elderly Men Just Snooze Under Newspapers".
Note: The status of Pluto was recently changed by the International Astronomical Union, and is no longer considered a planet. If however you wish to remember it with the other planets, we can simply alter our phrases a little - "My Very Excellent Mother Just Served Us Nine Pies".
Tip: It helps if you can make the phrase a little silly or funny, as this is proven to increase your recall ability.
