Picking Women's Running Shoes - Choosing Jogging Sneakers According to Your Foot Type
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

Having a pair of fit and comfortable running shoes can prevent injuries as well as enhance your performance. So, how to choose running shoes for women? The first step is to know the foot type.

There are three types of foot: neutral arch, low arch, and high arch. If you have a high arch, you are likely an under-pronator or supinator. If you have a low arch, you are likely an over-pronator or have flat feet. If you have neutral feet, you are normal pronater.

Two methods can determine your foot type:

Method A: By examining the bottom of your shoes - The wear on your shoes can reveal your foot type.

If you have a high arch, your shoes will show wear on the outside of the heel and forefoot. If you have a low arch, your shoes will show wear on the inside of the forefoot. If you have neutral feet, your shoe will show even wear.

Method B: By identifying your footprint - With this method, you need to have a shallow pan, a large piece of paper, and water.

1. Place paper on the floor.
2. Pour water into a shallow pan.
3. Step right foot into the shallow pan with shoe and sock off.
4. Take your foot off from the pan.
5. Step into the paper.

If you have a high arch, you will see your heel and a skinny line of the outside of your foot. If you can see not see arch, then you have flat feet. If you see about half of your arch, you have neutral feet.

Cushioning running shoes is a good choice for women who have high arches. For women who have flat feet, motion control running sneakers are a great selection. Stability jogging shoes are best for women with normal arches.
