Performing a Caravan Insurance Review

It would be difficult to make a caravan insurance review sound exciting - but perhaps the thought of saving money might do the trick!

A caravan insurance policy

A typical caravan insurance policy will comprise essentially:

· a confirmation of what financial protection the policy will give you;
· statements relating to what conditions you need to meet in order to keep your policy valid and to have claims approved if ever you need to;
· a list of exclusions - i.e. things that it will not cover;
· a price (the premium).

When you took the policy out initially, you probably looked at many of these areas in some detail to ensure that your policy was providing you with suitable protection.

That may have been fine at the time but two things typically happen:

  • we slip into a rut and just renew the policy each year because we can't be bothered to review it again;
  • the market changes and there are now offerings around that we never see.

So, now may be the time to perform a caravan insurance review.

The review itself

There's no need to worry - this doesn't have to be a vast activity on the scale of building the pyramids. All that's necessary is to:

· look at the four elements of an insurance policy outlined above and write down against each of them what your current policy is providing you with;
· have a look around at the marketplace (this is now far easier that it used to be given the internet) and see how your current policy is stacking up against other options.

The bottom line is that if you're no longer getting a suitable deal, then perhaps it is time to consider a change. It may mean either better cover or lower prices - and possibly both.

So, think about getting that caravan insurance review underway!
