What's The Difference Between Relative Pitch & Perfect Pitch?

The simplest answer possible is that perfect pitch is the ability to discern what a note is simply by hearing the note itself, while relative pitch is the ability to discern the relationship between two notes. By relationship I mean exactly how far apart the two notes are. I'm only using two notes as an example. When hearing music there will usually be more than just two notes of course.

Another Example

Let's say you go into a room and someone plays a chord on a piano. Relative pitch would give you the ability to know what kind of chord they had played (whether it was a minor chord, a major chord, a 7th chord, etc) while perfect pitch would give you the ability to know exactly what the chord was (for example a C major chord instead of just knowing it was a major chord.)
