There is nothing more discouraging than seeing your pay-per-click ad get thousands of impressions while receiving none or very few clicks. If you are having trouble getting your ad noticed there are some simple tips that can improve your click through rate without having to hire a professional to write your pay-per-click ad for you.

Before you begin writing your pay-per-click ad you need to ask yourself what makes your product stand out from the rest. If you are selling someone else’s product you should read over their sales copy and answer the same question. Determine what biggest benefit, not feature, of the product. Who would benefit from using the product? Most people looking to buy on the Internet are looking to the solution to a problem or to fill a desire. Use that to your advantage and focus your ad towards the solution or desire.

Once you have an idea or two the next step is to write your pay-per-click ad with an attention-grabbing headline. You might need to get a bit creative here because you usually don’t have a lot of room to write a long description. If possible use your target keyword phrase and try to grab Internet searchers attention with a question or solution.

Next, write ad copy that draws the reader in. Provide the solution to their problem. Avoid using all capital letters and make sure your ad is free from errors. Again writing a good ad can be difficult due to the limited space but take the time to be creative and professional. The ad should make sense as well as being enticing.

If you are having a hard time coming up with good ad copy, look at what others have done. Do a search on your keyword phrase and review the ads others have written. Pick out ones that grab your attention. Don’t copy them, instead make note of what makes them stand out from the rest and try to write your ad even better. This may take some time but it is doable.

Don’t stop with just one ad, you will want to write several ads and test them simultaneously to see which ones have the best conversion rates. Also if you are using different keyword phrases you will want to an ad for each phrase. I know this sounds like a lot of work, well it is, but being successful at anything takes work and it is worth it in the long run when you start receiving those commission checks.
