Today I wanted to write to you about patio fire pits. There are many different types of products that classify as fire pits. There are table tops, chimineas, bowls, rings, the standard stone fire pit and the do it yourself plans.
There are also different types of fuels that are used to go along to take into consideration. Their is the old reliable wood, the use of natural gas from the house or even a bottle of propane that you can be build into the frame work. Some people like the smell of the wood burning and going thought the process of lighting and just watching wood burn. It gives them the sense of creating fire a primitive felling of accomplishment. Others just do not wont to be bothered so they like to have a natural gas or propane style pit. Propane and natural gas can be very easy to light and have an added benefit of being a less smoky fire. The choice is yours to make.
Some important factors to take into consideration when making this decision to purchase are:
- Where am I going to put it?
- Can I easily run a natural gas line if I need to?
- Is there a place for a propane tank?
- What is the immediate area around the location?
- What is the pit going to be placed on if put on a deck?
- Stone, brick or some other type of deck protection should be used.
Another factor when purchasing a patio fire pit is it going to match my patio furniture and outside decor. Their is a lot of time and effort going into outdoor yard design these days and you want to make your yard a pleasing a possible. You should decide on what type of outdoor furniture you are planning to buy first or you can math your fire pit to what you already have. You just need to remember that if it a stone fire pit it could be around for years to come.
Along with all these factors you can not forget the budget associated with the whole project. If you are just adding a fire pit this will be a bit easier but if you are planning for a new outdoor set or a total rip out and replacement of the yard, your options will vary greatly. No matter what you are going to be doing, adding a patio fire pit to the yard will be a great investment. It will bring a new level of usage to any outdoor space.
After having my own patio fire pit and being able to hang out with my family and friends I just thought that everyone should be able to have this type of experience. I personally chose a wood type. I just love the whole process of getting the wood together and getting it started. I also noticed that everyone seemed to want to add a log or two as the night went on.
