I am going through the whole process of basic SEO (search engine optimization) in getting a web site to the top of search engine result pages which includes just what SEO really is and what it is about.
This is the tenth article in this series.
Already having talked about title tags and description, you want to make sure your internal linking is set up correctly. Basically, all you want to do is ensure any of the internal pages of your web site are set up in the same way as your front page. If you ensure your keywords are in the title for those pages, then linking pages to each other will be fine.
Okay. What next?
Content. Not your every day bland content that reads like some kind of dictionary or encyclopedia but unique original content!
Most everything you read on SEO talks about placing your keywords and keyword phrases into the body of your page(s). That is true "but", you are better off using less keywords and providing content which is focused on your readers. It should be done in a way that your readers can understand. It should be created directly for the person who will be reading it.
You know what I am talking about. We all have experienced for example, reading a book or instruction manual that was just too hard to get through. Maybe you have searched the internet for something you were really interested in and once you found it, browsing through it made your head hurt.
At the same time, we have all experienced a really good book that once you start reading it...you can't stop!
I know it is tough and I struggle trying to write content as well. Here are some suggestions you can try when creating your content.
1.) Pretend you are talking to somebody in the same room with you.
2.) What do you say when you are talking to someone on the phone? How do you typically express yourself during your normal every day conversations?
Think about this. It is in the way you talk that you want to portray what you are writing about to others. If your content is relevant to your keywords that your SEO is based solely upon, you will easily be able to place them into your content in the "context" of what you are saying!
There is plenty of information to be obtained when it comes to writing. I suggest signing up into one of the higher quality article directories. Your top ones typically offer forums that focus on improving writing skills.
Focusing on your readers by writing good content in the best thing you can do for SEO. Google has algorithms in place specifically looking at the "stickiness"of your site. They look at how much traffic comes to your site, how long do they stay, and where do they go. You want your visitors to enjoy your site and look around for awhile!
You also want to make sure that your web design flows well...the user is able to get around and find what they are looking for.
It is also important to have images and a header that captures the feel of what your web site is all about. This falls in line with your color scheme. The cosmetic "look" of your site is important as well.
Unfortunately, the look and feel of your web site is something that might not be completely optimized at first and is something you need to work with over time. The process of on going change is called split testing.
Notice that we are focusing more on the traffic to your site. If you optimize your web site for your visitors, that will go a long way in driving up your site in the search engine rankings. Google has a goal of ranking sites with as much of the "human" factor as they can. Getting a good flow of traffic to your site where the visitors tend to stick around for awhile "will" assist in driving up your site.
The next article in this series will talk about what you are trying to obtain to get high positions in the search engine rankings...back links and Page Rank!

I am currently working with a diverse team of like minded individuals in a co-op type atmosphere to build our business opportunity. This growing team currently consists of people from Ireland, Australia, England, Canada, and the United States. This team of network marketers are combining our efforts to obtain high positions in search engines like Google for higher level type keyword phrases. Where as many people usually fail when trying to build a home based business to supplement their incomes, we work together to ensure everyone has success. Anyone who becomes affiliated with us becomes successful as that is how "we" as a group become successful! The goal here of course is for many people doing a little instead of several people doing alot to ensure that success. All traffic and customers are derived from SEO. We do not call anyone unless they request it. We have a number of web sites but I can only submit two here. To learn more go to... Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jim_Eberle |
