Paris is an ancient city full of intrigue with a huge story, but what many people do not realize is that is great, in fact, the second largest in Western Europe. Paris is famous for several things, like the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, markets, galleries and history matched only in other European cities.
Short breaks in Paris are primarily taken by couples wanting a romantic weekend, but it is a great city with lots to see and do that to really get a sense of this city, it takes a week. Traveling around Paris is relatively easy as the subway system is very efficient and reaches everywhere.
La Tour Eiffel, who has more than 300 meters high, is a magnificent steel structure can be seen throughout most locations around the city with elevators take tourists to visit the top for a panoramic view of Paris. The night was full of lights that must be seen to be believed it is also possible to take organized tours which not only inform visitors about the history of the Tour, but also on the history of France.
A stroll along the Champs-Elysees is a must when visiting Paris, the most famous street in Paris, with shops, cafes and restaurants packed along wide sidewalks. This is the elegant area of Paris market which attracts thousands of tourists each day is also where most hotels are five star, but fortunately, hotels tend to be cheaper once you move out from downtown.
With nearly one third of a million samples, you can not see everything in the museum of the famous city, the Louvre, in fact, probably never to see them all if they were there every day of the week. There are thousands of pictures here and maybe some of the finest art collections in the world, including the famous Mona Lisa.
Then there is the equally famous Arc de Triomphe Napoleon, who built and engraved with the names of his generals back in 1806 which became an ideal place to take pictures. The Arc also features an observatory to take in the surroundings and views and is located on the Place Charles de Gaulle where twelve of the main avenues of Paris have begun, including the Champs-Elysees.
Obviously, this is not the only places to visit, but when visiting Paris, these are the most popular and certainly can not lose more than offer many regular guided tours, some with little or no everything. Paris has always been a destination for artists it is therefore not surprising that people like Monet, Picasso and many others lived in the city for years and some of his works are still visible today.
Paris short stays never be regarded as tasters for what is a truly wonderful destination city as this article has not yet considered the question of medieval castles and Gothic churches that Paris has in abundance.
