Parenting Courses - Why Most Discipline Programs Fail

Most parenting course are doomed to fail right from the start. Maybe you have tried some of these programs or even read about differing styles or techniques on parenting only to be disappointed after or possibly even felt as though something was just not right with the course.

Here is why. Almost every parenting course that is available to parents wanting to learn ways to discipline their children involve punishments or rewards, quick fixes or even manipulation.

However, these types of courses for discipline will not work, or at best, they are only a temporary fix to a bigger, root problem.

Look at it this way. You have a leak in the roof and there is a nasty rain storm soaking your house. Water is pouring through the ceiling and you are placing buckets around trying to catch all of the water. After awhile, the rain ends and the water stops running into your house. You empty the buckets and all is well. Until, that is, when it rains again. Without repairing the root of the problem, the leak in the roof, when the next rain comes, water will be pouring into your house again.

Just an analogy, but you get the picture. Addressing the symptoms and not the problems is the easier thing to do. That is the nature of our society today. We want things cleared up now, not tomorrow, and we do not like to wait for things to happen.

This is where almost all parenting courses are flawed. By administering medications to your child because he or she is overactive or displays out of control behavior, or even manipulating them into obedience, you are forcing them to calm down. But eventually, all of those emotions that you are squashing will come back in vengeance.

Covering up the root of the problems using a band aid like method is not going to fix the problem, just mask its symptoms. This is especially dangerous when it comes to disciplining your children. Pent up emotions are bound to erupt explosively, and then there is no disciplining in the world that is going to stop it.

With a parenting course that focuses purely on the root of the behavior problem, you will be eradicating the problem right at its source. This in turn will help to support your childs emotions and growth development in a very positive way.

As a parent, we only want what is best for our children, but by covering up the symptoms, we are only damaging their chances of a happy childhood and adult life. By giving your children the tools that will allow them to live a happy and good life, you are ensuring that they will respect you as well as others, and their bad behavior will be just a distant memory.

Remember that obnoxious behavior is the direct result of unexpressed fears and emotions and is a build up of stress that has not been allowed to be expressed adequately. No matter what their age, you will find that it is never too late to learn new ways of listening and connecting with your children.

So now that you know why almost all of today s parenting courses [http://effectivedisciplineforchildren.com/effective-discipline-for-children/] fail, you will be glad to know that there is an effective discipline for children program that has helped thousands of parents reconnect with their children and end their bad behavior once and for all.
