When you are blessed with good health, most of us do not appreciate it until it is affected in one way or another. A study suggests that over 50 million Americans live with chronic pain due to some disease, disorder or accident while over 75% of the American population suffers from some kind of acute pain be it stomach, ankle, arm, etc. One does not even have to depend of statistics to understand how much in pain we live today. You simply have to analyse your week to understand how often you faced headache, some sudden pain in ankle or simply how tired your eyes of fingers feel, and you will know just how much strained you body is. These tiny aches snowball into something bigger and more chronic when ignored on the early stages. As treating them with drug every time is not the solution for it will make you addictive here are a few effective ways of dealing with different type of body aches with natural and home remedies:
Hot water:
Any sort of joint can be easily dealt with warn water bath. If you have hurt your leg or hand immerse them into hot water till it becomes completely numb, add little salt in the water, it kills all the germs and strengthens your muscles. If you have back is hurting then pour hot water little by little and keep doing it till the pain goes away. After this wrap the affects area in a soft piece of cloth or towel and make sure not to expose it to normal atmosphere for at least an hour.
Herbal oil massage:
Heat the oil in a bowl and slowly massage it on the affected area with soft hands and applying little pressure. Massaging helps you relax and lets the oil sink in to your skin which begins working quickly.
Herbal teas:
Teas have been an imperative part of Chinese and Indian diet and hence, they have many effective pain relief herbal teas. Teas made of papaya seed or clove or Brazilian mint or oat straw, lemon balm, meadowsweet or lavender have worked wonders on joint pains. Many swear by the results produced by these teas and it also keeps you off the caffeine. These should be consumed at least 5 times a day.
Poultice:
A traditional eastern way of dealing with pain is relevant even today. These where the idea of derma patched were derived. Place Sage leaves on a pan pour some vinegar and chilli sauce on it and heat the pan on low simmer. Remove after five minutes place it on a soft cloth and quickly cover the affected area with it making sure that saucy side touches the skin. Tie it tightly and with an hour you will notice all your swelling has disappeared and pain has subsided majorly. You could also mix turmeric, powdered camphor and resin of benzoin with any of the herbal oils mentioned above, heat the mixture, apply it of the affected area followed by a thin layer of cotton. Then tie it with a soft cloth and leave it that way for two days. Your pain will be relieved effectively.
Beat a ripe banana to make a smooth paste, apply it on the affected areas and cover it with the pieces of banana leaves, tie it and leave it for two hours. Keep repeating it twice each day for few days and your pain not reappear for a long long time.
Eat or drink:
Mix half teaspoon of turmeric powder with warm milk and drink it thrice a day. Banana is considered to be best for joint pain, so have as many as you have in a day. Carrot juice helps you strengthen the ligaments. Consume apple cider vinegar and honey in warm glass of water for beneficial results.
Homemade ointment:
Mix two parts of olive oil and one part of kerosene oil and apply it on the affected area without massaging or applying any pressure.
Icepack:
Remember pain can be subsided when it is exposed to extreme heat or extreme cold. Heat is usually preferred for it acts quickly. However, those who prefer cold treatment should apply an ice pack for it has numbing properties. Compress the pack on affected area it suppresses the pain at nerve endings.
With these remedies you can take the pain out of your life very easily. In the time that we live in today, it is mandatory that we go back to Mother Nature and take all that she has to offer to us for her remedies has long lasting effect than any other drug or medication.
