PR From a Different Point of View - Pt 1

If you own a business, run an organization, are a public figure, your PUBLIC is anyone who cam and may take an interest in you, enough to form an opinion about you and then communicate it to another who may or may not add their own opinion of you and then communicate to another who then does the same and so the cycle continues. Now in all this it is hard to say whether the information passed around is correct, incorrect, good or bad.

The main idea behind Public Relations is to define what opinion you want the public to have of you, then to ensure that what is communicated to them aligns with that and continue to manage the information dissemination cycle with the help of the media as well as your own material.

The process and strategy for this is simple yet not as straightforward, it is a bit like branding.

When defining your public relations program, it is important to note, behind every successful public relations campaign, there is a core message that is to be communicated to your audience. The things you want to know and understand about you or your corporation.

The core message is usually broken into five or seven main points all centered around your vision, your philosophy, your view on bettering society through what you do, your values, your aspirations or ambitious in not so ambiguous terms.
