P90X - Know the Disadvantages of P90x Before You Buy

Expert Author Mike Erwin

I know everyone has read about all the advantages of P90X but today I would like to go over some of the disadvantages you need to know about before purchasing the P90X training.

* You won't require much equipment to do these workouts; even so, you would need to have a pull up bar or some bands, which could possibly be tricky to use depending on how your place is set up or how much room you have available.

* If you have prior injuries there may be workouts that you just can't do. They really can't be faulted for this; it would happen with any exercise routine that isn't custom fit for you. Even though they do show you modifications for each of the exercises.

* You've got to pace yourself with the videos, this guy moves from one exercise to another rapidly, and I've discovered myself scrambling a bit to keep up. I like this feature, but others might feel a little overwhelmed trying to keep up. You are able to hit the pause button and slowly build up your endurance. I know that is what I had to do.

* The fitness book that the P90X comes with looks good but actually does not explain it as well as I would like. I opened it a few times and put it on my shelf. The book's organization could have been made easier for me to understand, I am not certain why they laid it out like they did.

* The nutrition guide was just about as helpful as the fitness book. This plan I am sure would help me lose pounds - but I know I'm not going to follow it. I'm confident I would shed pounds if I ate fruit and veggies for the rest of my life, but it doesn't mean I'm going to. Again, the design from the book is nice; I just know I won't be following a strict program.

* If you're going to be working out on the second floor be careful about ticking off the folks below you. There's a great deal of moving around and jumping in some cases. Your spouse or neighbors may not appreciate this.lol

* Lastly, at the end of all the videos, the parent company likes to slip in advertisements for their back-end nutritional solutions. Tony's even guilty of going a little overboard on pitching these products during the video. I came to work out guys - not to become pitched on something but I guess that is part of the business.

The Main point here:

Assuming you've got the space in your home, and you're searching to include several additional workouts into your routine, I do endorse this program. I recognize the value of the wide variety of programs the collection contains, even though Tony talks a good deal he will keep things exciting and motivating. I have not lost a bunch of weight in the initial month and a half, but in all fairness, I'm not following the "aggressive" diet they've laid out...and I've been known to eat pizza and drink some beer!

I know I've gotten stronger just by following the P90X training and just using the resistance bands, and I've lost some weight. Due to the fact I am not following the exact program it will just take me longer to achieve my goals but I realize that this is a lifestyle change for me and not just a 90 day thing. Also good to know that muscle weighs more than fat. So don't get discouraged with the scales, it's more important to notice the inches and how your clothes are starting to fit on you.

If you're overweight and out of shape like I used to be, take it from me, you need to take your life back and get serious about your fitness using the P90X Workout!

I'm not going to tell you it's easy but before you start having health issues from being overweight or out of shape why don't you get started now and avoid all those issues while you're still able.
