Over the past five years, hundreds of companies in the beauty industry have jumped on the 'go-green' bandwagon. It has become almost impossible to distinguish which ones did it for marketing and which ones did it because their conscience told them to. But companies like Origin skin care are prime examples of leading by example.
As a holistic skin care specialist, I take great pride in identifying companies like these that are committed to staying green and offering all-natural products while being environment-friendly at the same time.
Because in today's skin care industry, it is hard to find products that use all-natural ingredients. So many products out there use harmful chemicals and quick-fixes as a way to push their products through the greasy commercial pipeline. The industry is riddled with toxic products backed by fancy marketing. And in today's world of instant gratification, if it looks good and other people are doing it, so will you.
So my goal is to give people advice on what is harmful and what isn't. Some things to look out for when choosing skin care products...
DON"T BUY PRODUCTS CONTAINING THE FOLLOWING:
• Propylene Glycol
• Mineral Oil
• Parabens
• Phthalates (always avoid these!)
• PABA
• Petrolatum (eats at skin)
• Paraffin (prevents skin from breathing)
• DEA
• Animal Ingredients
These are just a few of the ingredients to avoid when choosing your skin creams and moisturizers. If someone is marketing the heck out of a fancy new product, odds are it has some of these quick-fixes in it. When choosing skin care products, try to find companies like Origin skin care that use all-natural ingredients from all over the world. Your face will thank you in the long run!
