Multi-tasking

When getting organized a great place to start is by organizing your time. You would be surprised at how much time multi-tasking can save you. Start simple- watching T.V whilst you cook dinner. Watering the garden whilst you play with the dog.

Organize your kids

Create a schedule of all your kids activities and keep it somewhere that the whole family can see it. Clearly assign and display each persons responsibility. Give the children chore to do and then reward them for their efforts. You can start small, for example their own rooms and packing their lunch for school. This will teach them to become more organized.

Sort out your closet

Begin by having a clear out. Be ruthless, if you haven't worn it in 12 months then it has got to go! Then sort the current seasons clothes from the others. If it is summer, then pack your winter things away. This will free up some space and allow the wardrobe to feel less cluttered. Next sort by clothing type- hang dresses with dresses, trousers with trousers and so on. This will save you loads of time when you are putting together your outfits in the morning. If you want to get really into it, you could even order by color!

Organize your kitchen

Again begin with a good solid clean out. Throw (or give) away anything that you no longer use. A great tip for your kitchen is to utilize the many space saving options that you have available to you. Draw organizers are brilliant at clearly displaying contents so that you no longer have to fumble around searching for the can opener. Hooks on the inside of the pantry door can be great for hanging tea-towels etc. The same principles can be applied to your bathroom too.

Decluttering your home may not happen over night, but it has to start somewhere!
