Many of us might find this usual: Last summer you were looking for a house. You contacted real estate agents, saw a few homes, and finally moved into one. You are all set and life is going as usual. However, if you sit back and look at your daily routine, you will find a lot of disorder in it. Your children do not help you with the dishes, you have to clean the rooms on your own and sometimes the laundry is delayed, and so on. What you need to do is develop a proper family schedule and organize your time according to that. Moreover, you are not doing the household chores on your own; you need the family members to cooperate with you.
If you are a working woman, things are tough for you. However, you must make it clear to your children that you have a job and they will have to respect your professional requirements too. Therefore, you owe a hand in doing all the chores and family members must cooperate. Even if your work hours are flexible, give enough importance to your work schedule as well as your home schedule.
Every member of the family must have a certain task to do. All the members must be serious about the particular responsibility they have. As you distribute the tasks among members, at the end of the day, you will have a limited burden on your shoulders, and ultimately you will feel relaxed as all the chores would be done on time. You can also switch these duties from time to time so that the members are not bored with what they are supposed to do.
In your schedule, you should also include some fun element. For instance, mark a day every week on which you head out for a movie, dinner, or an amusement park. This will be very helpful in family bonding. Moreover, this day should be solely for the family and you must not plan a day out with your friends or colleagues on this very day. You must also consider certain variations that suddenly show up. These variations can disturb your schedule. For instance, you had a bad day at work, or you are ill. The movie plan will have to be postponed for next week then.
On the kitchen counter or on the fridge, set up a family calendar. Make sure this is visible to all the family members during most of the times of their day. On this calendar, mark all the upcoming happenings of the following week. This way, you will be able to keep everyone updated about different events.
You can also set up a few guidelines. This will make the whole atmosphere disciplined. You should let family members know about a few rules that operate in the house. For instance, the number of times each member can go out with friends in a week, the maximum time till which they can stay out, breakfast to be done with family, etc.
Keeping everything organized in your home environment will be of great help to you. You can now manage the tasks well, and the whole discipline of your house will be maintained.
