Oral Problem Prevention

Many people today are facing oral problems like bad breath and tooth decay. How can this be prevented?

Below are common mouth problems and ways to prevent it:

Gingivitis

One of the most common problems that a person will get from not taking proper care of their mouth is gingivitis. Gingivitis is a case wherein the gums in your mouth swell. One of the common causes for gingivitis is the buildup of plaque around the teeth. These plaques bring bacteria causes your gum to be irritated and swollen, the gum may easily bleed.

Periodontitis

Periodontitis is a case wherein the bone that holds the person's teeth in place is being invaded and destroyed by bacteria. The attack usually occurs when gingivitis is left unattended or not cured. When periodontitis occurs, the gums may recede therefore exposing the roots and making the teeth more sensitive to heat and cold. In worst cases, the teeth may also loosen from the gums due to bone destruction.

Bad Breath

Having a bad smelling breath is another very common and obvious case of bad oral health. Having a bad breath is usually caused by the buildup of bacteria in your mouth. Bacteria accumulate through the food that is left in your mouth, especially those in between your teeth. These bacteria release chemical called sulfur, the sulfur that these bacteria release is what causes you to have bad breath.

CARING FOR YOUR MOUTH

Choosing your Toothbrush - Proper care for your mouth starts from properly choosing the toothbrush for you. When buying for a toothbrush, look for one that is soft to your gum, has soft bristles, can effectively clean your teeth and can easily get inside your mouth.

If you have a good amount of budget, you can then buy electric toothbrushes; they are most effective in removing plaques. Brush your teeth at least twice a day and visit your dentist every six months.

It is also recommended that after brushing your teeth you have to follow it up with a mouth wash.

Toothpaste - Toothpastes are essential in maintaining a good oral hygiene. Look for toothpastes that have fluoride in them, this helps prevent cavities that damage your gums.

Floss - Flossing is another way of taking care of your mouth. It helps remove plaques and foods left in between your teeth. It also helps prevent gum problems. Flossing once a day is enough already. Night time is the best to floss and breakfast.

To maintain a healthy mouth better use the best denture cleaner and a Hydrabrush. You can ask your dentist about it.
