Online Marketing Business - 7 Reasons Why You're Failing

Failing in your online marketing business? Or just not getting the results with your marketing you hoped for? Below are the top seven reasons for failure online, and the strategies for avoiding them:

1. Avoid businesses or programmes that are sold on hype and/or over exaggerated claims. Remember, if something sounds to good to be true, then it probably is.

Thankfully, the emergence of new factual based online opportunities with the training and development of their members at their core is revolutionizing the industry.

By asking simple but often un-thought of questions like "how is the sustainability and longevity of the business secured?" will help, and if you don't hear "multiple streams of income" in their response, then walk away as they may only be teaching you how to learn a business to sell a business and not how to market anything online.

2. Avoid marketing groups that insist new members buy expensive training products or any materials that the group offers.

Look for groups that promise not to sell you on nothing after you join, and that also have product inventories that you are free to learn off and sell at no extra cost.

3. Whatever online business you join, your choice of sponsor is a massive predictor of your success.

Making a hasty decision and choosing a person who you cannot relate too and/or build a personal relationship with will certainly lead you down the road to certain failure. If you already have a sponsor like this, change, it's your business and your free to with it as you please.

4. Most do not devote enough time to their opportunity and fail to recognize it as a business.

This is by far the most important point and is the biggest reason for failure online. Some people are joining marketing groups half-heartedly, businesses don't become successful overnight. Learning, personal development, persistence and a burning desire to succeed will be key, and remember, you've never truly failed until you quit.

5. Once you have achieved relative success don't assume that you're status will not decline if not maintained.

I'm not saying don't enjoy you new found lifestyle, but don't assume that success is a given. The best way to maintain this, is to identify or establish a "master-mind group" where you can have access to top industry professionals, share what's working and learn changing industry trends within the community.

6. Operating without clear business targets or goals.

A business owner without a goal owns a business without a future. Goals need to be specific, simply saying "I want more money" or "I'm going to get more leads" is not specific. Something like "In two months time I will have brought 600 new leads into my business, and made $50,000 more than I did in my previous two months" would be better.

7. Have a well-established commitment to work and duty.

So many fail because they simply don't get stuff done. Create a work schedule in MS WORD or MS EXCEL that divides up all the time hungry aspects of your week: work, social life, family life etc.

Pin it up around the house, at the office and in the car so you see it everywhere you go. You're then being constantly reminded of what you must do before you go to bed that night, without fail, just do what's manageable to start off with and build on it as you get quicker at your tasks.

There are many more aspects that can lead to failure within an online marketing business, but by ensuring you avoid the seven above you can be sure you are giving yourself the best possible chance of seeing results as fast as humanly possible.
