About two years ago I blindly entered the online business world thinking I was going to make a fortune overnight. Well at least supplement my current job. I was trying to be realistic. I bought a number of "Fool Proof "programs that guaranteed my immediate success and instant wealth, You know what I mean the hype and the excitement of it all. Guess what. I didn't become rich overnight and there really was a lot more work to internet marketing than those ads and programs portrayed. Still they all had some elements of truth in them.
However the simple facts were most of these marketers were looking for a quick sale and maybe if I was gullible enough they would have tempted me with another product I really didn't need. I seemed to be on everybody's mailing list and there was no end to the gimmicks to getting rich, well online anyway. As I bought each program though I found I was learning the same things just explained in a different way. It became quite obvious to me that most of these strategies are reworded make-ups of a number of basic or core selling techniques that if you really study on the net can be found for free.
I look back now and wished I hadn't been so naive, but it did end up being a good learning experience. Strangely enough I was able to make some money from a number of niche internet sites including scrapbooking and cheap electronics. They still are making money though I am never going be a millionaire from them.
Finally I decided to start from scratch and revisit a number of my main information suppliers, including product reviews, press releases, books on the affiliate marketing and EzineArticles. I found one particular article that help remind me that the web was in real terms a place for people to find either goods or information. Things started to make sense again.
To have any success with online affiliate marketing I needed to learn all the basics again. I ended up modelling my business on a successful which included developing a slick informed sales campaign based on well designed marketing tools which included article creation, video tutorials, press releases, social media sites any many more. From there I had a working blueprint which I was able to clone future sites and campaigns.
Since that original revelation I have had a number of successful sale campaigns and I've been able to base all that success on reading one article. Research. Who would have thought! However to be successful at anything you should really know it inside and out.
