INTRODUCTION

I have a friend who styles himself as a Psychologist. His expertise and worth as a professional psychologist might be called into question, but his theory about man is not ambiguous. He divides human beings into two major kinds. One is called Although Human and other is called But Human. He does not like to explain his concept of human beings. If some one dares to ask about these strange types he snubs him right away and afterwards a meaningful smile appears on his lips. But being my chum he could not deny my inquiry and started explaining his theory.

He said "Although he is a man, yet he is devoid of all human values". He wanted to clarify his theory more but I requested him to stop doing that. I said that I had understood his meanings. He was astonished and confused over my answer. He himself was not clear about his own ideas so he thought it better to slip away from the scene. I started imagining about the Although Human. I found myself lost in his sentence which he had divulged before leaving.

BUT HUMAN

I was to ask him about the second type of human being but he had gone. I pondered and pondered over the theory. I started guessing the meanings of the difficult term. I drew an idea from his explanation of Although Human and coined a sentence. The sentence ran "He possesses no human values but he is a human being". I was striving hard to explain the things with some arguments. For this purpose I started comparing the "But Human" with other flora and fauna of this world.

Man and Horse

First of all I compared the type with horse. There were some traits common in both the species. The horse was very difficult to control like the "But Human". The horse lives a life of liberty like the But human. The horse might save his master's life at the cost of his own. On the contrary But human places his safety above every thing. From here the difference began and continued for the rest of all characteristics of the horse and But Human.

DONKEY AND But Human

I rejected the horse and started comparing But Human with donkey. Donkey is famous for its dignity of labor and patience. That is why the West respects the "donkeys".The people of America love the donkeys most and choose it as elections symbol of a party. The west has a special interest in donkeys of the world. A donkey is revered for its patience like "But Human". Donkey never demands any thing from his master like the man under discussion. A donkey loves hard work. Here the But Human reared for behind the donkeys' .He never likes even work. He wants to have a cake and eat it too. So I discarded the comparison of donkey with the But Human.

ELEPHANT AND But Human

Then I thought about the elephant. But Human is vain just like the elephant. He never minds the trivial happenings around him. He is stooped to his physical power. But Human lagged far behind the revengeful nature of the elephant. But Human does not remember the excesses made to him. But Human wants to make merry even at the cost of his honor.

OTHER EXAMPLES

I dragged myself behind a lot of species of the animal and plants. I compared the But Human with the crow, owl, parrot and even vulture but all were short of the specific characteristics of the But Human. Then I considered the plants .I made its comparisons with cabbage, with roses with a variety of vegetables but could not succeed in finding the true match for But Human.

THE REAL COMPARISON

I was going to shun the comparison and explanation but a strange idea saved me from disgrace. It was the ideas of comparing the But Human with the Onion. I found perfect match for this type of human being in this delicious vegetable.

Onion is a universal vegetable; same is the case with the But Human. But Humans are found all over the world. Onion is a strange type of vegetable as far as its structure is concerned. It is composed of layers of the same shape to its pith. But Human is also composed of the layers of many kinds. But Human also has many layers of corruption, misdeeds, and many other vices and follies.

CONCLUSION

ONION solved not only my problem but also of my psychologist friend. I could not help admiring the psychologist who had opened to me a new vista of knowledge and understanding. A new world of human being was revealed to me where onions ruled and the onions were the ruled ones. I was very thankful to my friend and was obliged to him for his resourceful thinking. I went to him and presented my explanation to him. He nodded his head and I could not help yelling Yahoo!
