Oil Spill Pads - A Quick, Easy, and Economical Solution For Spills of Most Sizes

Expert Author Travis Zdrazil

Oil spills can happen easily if there's oil being handled or stored. And such spills can be messy. Fortunately, there's and easy and quick solution to clean them up. Read on to find out more about how oil spill pads can handle a large range of spills easily and economically.

When there's an oil spill, you could bring on the big oil spill kits. And that will probably work, but sometimes it can be overkill. Those kits can also be expensive at times.

In addition, they take up a lot of space. You can only have so many of them sitting around in various places of your facility. And if the spills tend to be small, such space hoggers aren't likely to be kept nearby, which can lead to delays when a spill should occur.

So what to do instead? Get oil spill pads instead.

Oil spill pads solve all of the above problems. They are very small in size, and can be cut into even smaller sizes if needed. This makes it easy to keep some around just about anywhere.

You can stash them in drawers, keep a little stash in a corner, and even tuck some in your pocket or lab coat if needed. You can keep some in the glove compartment in your car, and so on.

And they're outright cheap, especially considering the value they bring to your facility. You can get them in two varieties: economy and high performance.

Either of those are designed to absorb only oil and oil-based liquids, so they're great for removing oil not only from the floor but even from bodies of water.

Of course, oil-based liquids include a range of other substances, including diesel, fuel, solvents, and even vegetable oils, so they could be a high-powered alternative to paper towels in the kitchen as well.

Their heavy weight construction means they're holding up to a lot of use.

The high performance ones are even stronger. They're also dimpled to increase absorption power, and they are super quick when it comes to mopping up spilled or leaked puddles of oil.

Here's another cool thing: Not only are they relatively inexpensive to begin with, but you can actually reuse them. If you have a hand wringer, you can wring them out after they've soaked up their fill and reuse them again. So you can clean up quite a sizable spill with just a few oil absorbent pads. And that's really economical.

As you can see, oil spill pads are an easy and quick solution for cleaning up oil spills.
