It has been reported that two out of three Americans are now overweight or obese. With that staggering figure, obesity is no longer a problem, but rather a disease and epidemic. The fast past and laid back lifestyle of most Americans have lead to this growing concern of obesity. But this doesn't just effect adults, it also effects children. About 16% of children in America between the ages of 6 and 19 are obese. This epidemic is not just affecting America and other developed countries, but it is a growing concern for the entire world and we are fast becoming the world's sickest generation.
Understanding the problem is part of fixing the problem. So what is obesity and how will you know if you are? Obesity is an excess proportion of total body fat. A person is considered obese when his or her weight is 20% or more above normal weight. The most common measure of obesity is the body mass index or BMI . A person is considered obese if his or her BMI is over 30. Obesity occurs when a person consumes more calories than he or she burns. What causes this imbalance between consuming and burning calories is unclear. Obesity can cause many serious health complications that may lead some to a premature death.
- Heart disease and stroke
- High blood pressure
- Diabetes
- Certain forms of Cancer
- Gallbladder disease and gallstones
- Osteoarthritis
- Gout
- Breathing problems, such as sleep apnea (when a person stops breathing for a short time during sleep) and asthma
With those types of complications and concerns, many people are actively trying to loss weight. Here are 8 Strategies for Long-Term Weight Loss that you can do.

For many, weight loss can be a struggle because it means substantial changes in eating and exercising habits. These can be some of the hardest habits to change, and there is no "one size fits all" or quick fix. It was reported that over 200 million people are overweight or obese and out of those about 1% spent over $1 billion dollars last year on gastric bypass surgery alone. Statistics show that 1 in 300 die from gastric bypass surgery.
But the best way and newest way to loose weight that is healthy for anyone to use, is a hunger management system portion control dietary supplement called FORM (proven results).
