Nutritional Supplements From Fats and Carbohydrates Provide Energy

Our body needs energy to survive. Everything we do from breathing, the beating of our heart, our brain activity, muscle movement, and digesting foods require energy to keep us going. This energy is supplied by carbohydrates which produce sugar, proteins that provide amino acids which are vital to life, and fats, another energy source. We can get these from vitamin supplements.

Carbs keep us going from day to day

Carbohydrates consist of compounds which are made from sugars. Classified by the number of total sugar units we find that monosaccharides (fructose and glucose), disaccharides (lactose and sucrose), polysaccharides (glycogen, cellulose, and starch), and oligosaccharides make up the ingredients found in carbohydrates. They give our body energy we cannot survive without and can be found in many of the foods we eat or by taking nutritional supplements as part of our daily diet.

Protein is the staff of life

The energy provided by proteins we consume each day is another form of necessary energy required by the body merely to exist and also provide nutrition in the form of essential amino acids. Many of these vital amino acids cannot be manufactured by our body naturally so we gain from health providing vitamins supplements in some form. A daily vitamin, mineral, and supplement added to a well rounded diet insures us of the optimum supply of vital ingredients for proper health and plenty of vital energy. Eight amino acids regarded as necessary or essential include valine, threonine, phenylalanine, methionine, leucine, isoleucine, lysine, and tryptophan. Essential means they are more important to us than many of the other amino acids, particularly since our body does not make them on its own.

Fat is not necessarily a bad thing for our diet

Fat is a molecule of glycerin with three fatty acids which are attached in what are considered non branched hydrocarbon chains. These in turn are bonded in the form of saturated fatty acids or may be found as unsaturated fatty acids. Cells, which our body is comprised of, need certain fats to function properly, keep our body temperature steady, and provide us with healthy hair and skin. Our body cannot manufacture many of these vital fatty acids so we benefit from nutritional supplements which provide them for us.
