Nokia E72 Details Revealed
Print This Article Ezine Publisher Send To Friends Add To Favorites Post A Comment Suggest Topic Report Author

The Nokia E72 is not the most powerful device on the market, and hardware-wise you could probably take this phone apart and swap the parts for better, faster features. But as a whole, there is nothing that should be changed about the E72.

That is how much we literally love this mobile phone. Sure it has no touch screen, sure the internal memory can be higher, and the display could have been a larger capacitive touch screen, but at the end of the day, we all conclude that such changes would only take away the practicality and straightforwardness of this device.

It's simple and easy to use. It runs all its functions quickly and most of all, the E72 is really fun to use. Changing any of the hardware would just alter the incredible balance that this device gives. Taking is roots in the already amazing E71, the E72 brings back all the good features and brings in a few useful modifications that make it all the more worth buying.

The Difference from the E71 Hardware

There is not much different between the E71 and E72 in terms of core features. They both use the impressively simple, ARM 11 600 MHz processor; it's a good match for the Symbian operating software and will let you run various Nokia applications without much problems.

The difference between the two phones is more superficial. The 5 mega pixel camera is an upgrade over the original, and the 3.5mm audio jack was simply moved from its original location. If you are wondering why, the audio jack has been moved from its location on the side of the E71 to the top of the E72, this makes more sense since mobile devices tend to be right side up when slipped into a bag or pocket.

The best improvement comes in the form of the optical touch pad which reinvents the navigation features of the device allowing users a more accurate and easier time using the phone and accessing features.

Specs and Score

Nothing determines a mobile phone more than its specs. Part by part, the Nokia E72 is a decent phone, as a whole, the specs build up what we can only say as one of the best smart phone designs ever made.

This all being with 2.36 inch screen with 320 x 240 pixels of resolution and its 16 million colour display; the screen is complemented by the 600 MHz processor, the Symbian operating system and the 5 mega pixel camera. These hardware features are all powered by the 1500 mAh battery which will keep the phone running for over 550 hours on standby after a full charge. The keyboard and optical touch pad make using the device fast and easy. Put it all together and you have an excellent smart phone.

The Features of the E72

As a smart phone, the Symbian supports web browsing. The E72 can access GPRS, EDGE, 3G HSDPA and WiFi networks. It supports Bluetooth and also has A-GPS (covered by Nokia Maps). You can access and load files via a microUSB slot or through the microSD card slot which supports cards of up to 16GB.
