Coloured Wii consoles could be the next wave of changes Nintendo announce in their Christmas build up this year. Rumour has it a White PS3 Slim will also go into production shortly. Nintendo already provide a range of colours for the DS Lite console, which came about after having only two colours initially before Nintendo added one of every colour almost.

The specification will probably remain the same albeit with different Wii firmware and Software which would be in their System update for general release anyway. The exciting addition to the Nintendo Wii since 2006 is the all new Wii Motion Plus Wii mote accessory providing more realistic motion detection in new Wii games. The Wii remote, depending on the sport can be used for a variety of purposes, from swinging a golf club to driving a kart. The controller the Nunchuk is used far less in games, but always attaches to the Wii mote.

What else might happen? Well the new Wii Sports Resort game is unlikely to replace the original Wii Sports. Despite the critics of Wii Sports Resort, the game is likely to be one of the biggest titles Nintendo launch in 2009. Sports Island by Konami bridged the gap for the Wii gamers who longed for more sports games on Wii. After all the Nintendo Wii console and sports are synonyms now. An achievement their rivals would be proud of. Digressing to Sports Island for a minute, of the 10 sports on offer only 50% are any good. Sports only really come into their own when playing against people, the Wii as an opponent takes more effort. Of those the archery is similar to Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games with much simpler controls. On the whole many of the sports use simple controls compared to sport Sims. Tiger Woods 2010 being the perfect example of difficult but highly specialised controls. Oh not forgetting Tiger Woods 2010 is one of the few Nintendo Wii motion plus compatible games.

A black Nintendo Wii console wouldn't be complete without a matching black Wii mote and a black Nunchuk; somehow I doubt the console would be viable without providing matching black accessories.
