I'm a newlywed of almost 15 months and remember how exciting, romantic, and spontaneous things were in the first 9 months of marriage. Don't get me wrong, we are still on cloud 9 and very much in love with each other, but reality has now set in. We are a blended family with four children (I have two from my previous marriage and my husband has two from a previous marriage) all of whom live with us, so you can imagine how busy we are.
Through all of the hustle and bustle of paying bills, kids' football games, sports practices, cheerleading practices, homework, cooking, church, running errands, etc., at the end of the day we're worn out! I'm sure some of you have experienced the same thing! As a couple we get so consumed with every day life that we sometimes forget that we still need to keep the romance alive in our new marriage. You may be wondering how you do that when you're so busy. The answer is simple WEEKEND GETAWAY!!!
My husband and I have vowed to keep things fun, exciting and romantic in an effort to keep the fire burning in our marriage! We've learned that about every 3 months or so we tend to get a little agitated or frustrated which can ultimately have a negative impact on the marriage. We've found an avenue that leads to the refreshing, restoring, and revitalizing of our marriage! About once every quarter we get alone by ourselves and take a romantic weekend getaway! This gives us a chance to really listen to, talk to, and enjoy each other with no interruptions!
Start thinking of and planning the perfect weekend getaway for you and your spouse to enjoy one another again. You'll come back home more close and with a deeper love for one another!! The great thing is that you don't have to spend a lot of money unless you choose to do so!!! You can find great deals and weekend packages such as romantic getaways to Caesars Poconos Resorts, mountains, the outer banks, and much more!
