There are many points to consider if you are planning to buy a motor home (also called RV) for yourself or your family, and this including whether to buy a used one or a new one. In deciding whether to buy a new motor home or used one, you should find out what is the pro and con for every targeted vehicle. Here are some of the points that you should take a look when buying a motor home.

Many of them prefer to buy a new one just because they have more freedom in decorating the vehicle. You can decorate the RV as luxury as possible if the budget permitted. One of the reason people buying a new RV is because of the pride associated with it, the person who are owning a luxury RV are always being treated as higher level individual in the society. However, if you are set to purchase a new RV, you should seriously think about the impact to your financial status as well.

It is a known secret that a new motor home is expensive, it could cost you not more than $200K for a normal one and not less than $300K for a luxury one. It is worth to mention that according to a study, the depreciation of this type of vehicle is always higher than any other vehicles. The maintenance cost is also as high as your couldn't think of.

Many of them are going for used motor home just for the reason of lower selling price. As mentioned above, the depreciation is always great once the new one is running on the road, sometimes you can expect to buy a used RV for 30%-40% lower than a new one. However, you may experience a poor performance for the used RV as well as a high yearly maintenance cost may incur, just because that you do not know how the previous owner treating the vehicle. You should always bring an experience mechanic to examine the vehicle before you make up your mind, just to ensure the condition is at the maximum.

There are many pros and cons in buying new or used motor homes, before you make any decision, you should make serious consideration in term of your personal needs, financial status, and so on.
