Website design is a process that can be accomplished by adding and integrating certain elements, which are mostly dynamic in nature. In Japan, in the last couple of years, the internet market has opened up completely providing opportunities for Japanese people to venture into online business. Online business is fast becoming a lucrative option of the Japanese as the cost is low and the profit can be quite high depending on the type of business.

Now if you have a new business and require a website to be designed then there are certain aspects that you will need to consider. One of the important areas that you will need to take care of before proceeding with website design is registration of your company in Japan. There are several legal considerations that you need to take care of before you can actually start a company. But once your company is registered, you will need to follow the steps mentioned below to begin the process of forming the new company website in Japan:

1. Domain Registration: The first thing that you need to do is register your domain name. Domain name will have the name of the company. For example: if the name of your company is Kamikaze then you can register your domain name as kamikaze.com. The URL (Uniform Resource Locator) will be kamikaze.com. Now you will also have the alternative of opting for a .jp domain. A .JP domain can cost anywhere from $40 to $60 per domain name registration and your website URL will then be kamikaze.jp. If you are dealing with Japanese consumers then it is important for you to consider a .JP domain vis-à-vis a .COM domain. The advantage is that if you have a .JP domain then the visitor from Japan will assume that you are a local company.

2. Hosting Space: The next thing you need for launching a new company website in Japan is hosting space. Hosting space can be shared or dedicated with the latter being more expensive but offering high online security. You can buy hosting space from thousands of vendors through out the world as well as in Japan. The basic aspects that you need to consider while choosing a hosting solution include:

• Cost: Monthly or annual cost for hosting your website

• Server: There are mainly two servers: Windows and Linux

• Space: It will vary from one plan to another and can be for as low as 25MB or for as high as 150GB.

• Language Support: This refers to the various programming language supported by the hosting package. Some of the most common languages include HTML, ASP, ASP.NET, JAVA, CGI/PERL, C++, and PHP. Depending on the programming language used on your website, you can choose the required language support.

• Email: Different companies offer different packages that can include anywhere from 10email id's to 100 email id's and from 100MB space to 10GB space.

3. Website Design: This is stage where you will hire a website designer to develop your website based on your company requirements, future objectives, SEO, audience targeted and products or services highlighted. You can develop a simple HTML website or create a full fledged ecommerce website with integrated payment gateway depending on your requirement.
