Spamming in network marketing doesn't work for several reasons. Here are the most common ones.
1. Spammers almost always post a link to a replicated site of some kind. If it's not their own content and the person getting the link doesn't know you, and there is no reason why they should care. They don't know you or trust you. There is nothing in it for them to check out your web site.
2. Posting spam is a sales pitch without any regard to what the other person wants or needs. Let's say I have a super juice that helps people lose weight. If you don't need to lose weight or don't care about health supplements, you probably won't care about my web site. It's mass advertising without taking into account you need to advertise to those who may want your product, and especially those who are looking for it. Posting it randomly on a forum or social networking site is hit and miss at best.
3. Spamming links does not brand you as a person. In order to build a business on the internet, people need to see you as a leader and someone who can help solve their problems. Usually the problem is a financial one. It may be a health problem and if you market a product suited for them it may be what they are looking for.... but only AFTER they are sold on you as someone they like and trust.
4. It's just plain good manners wherever you are on the internet to not post spam and to be respectful of others. I don't consider posting a link to your blog on Facebook, for example, to be spam, if your posts are good ones that help others, and are not specific to any company. Trust me..... if you give value to others and help them with their marketing they will contact you and ask what you are marketing. Let your prospects make the decision to come to you. The best leads you can ever have are those who sign up to your newsletter or contact you and say..... "what is your business"?
5. Spamming your network marketing company brands them but not you. Replicated web sites are one of the worst things you can use to market initially. They do have a purpose, AFTER you have talked to a prospect who has maybe signed up for your newsletter or otherwise contacted you to see what you do, but if you lead with that, how is your cookie cutter web site any different than anyone else's? It's not. Use your company sites to give to prospects who have asked about your network marketing business, and perhaps need to know more about your products or comp plan, etc. But never lead with them. It's a waste of time.
Let people be curious about what you do. When people perceive you as a leader and one who can help them... they WILL want to join your business, because they are joining YOU.... not your program.
It isn't about your network marketing company. It's about YOU.
