Natural Remedies for Eczema in Winter - 3 Simple Eczema Natural Remedies At Home

If you are looking for additional natural remedies for eczema during winter, you are probably not alone. Just like you, millions of sufferers seek extra eczema natural remedies to combat the increased irritation flare-ups.

What we must understand is that the epidermis has a natural skin emulsion - an oily coating that protects your skin against bacteria infection. Winter conditions tend to destroy this oily coating more easily hence resulting in loss of moisture with dry, itchy and scaly skin as the end result.

Here are three (3) simple natural remedies for eczema that can help you during winter:

1. Maintaining Humidity

Skin loses moisture easily in low humidity conditions such as the dryness during winter-time. Installing a humidifier is one way that can help and this works extremely well with central heating. Adjust the humidifier to attain a humidity level of 30 - 40%. If required, ensure this level is reached by getting a humidity gauge.

2. Temperature of Baths / Showers

During winter, many people often take hot baths or showers. Water actually removes your skin's natural oily coating and hot water removes it faster. So, instead of doing this, please use lukewarm water when bathing or showering and keep the sessions short. In addition, use moisturising soap since plain soap tends to dry the skin easily.

3. Choice of Clothing

Many people keep warm by wearing additional layers of clothes. However, since the skin is more sensitive during winter, you must take extra precaution on the material of clothes that can cause irritation. Instead of wool or sensitive material, go for cotton that is easier on your skin.

The above are methods that you can easily deploy at home and are known to bring relief to sufferers.

If these did not work for you for some reason, perhaps you should look at a permanent remedy for your condition.

By searching online, you can find alternative natural remedies for eczema that are proven but may seem strange (e.g. there is one that advocates against wearing dark or black clothing!). The Internet is a great place to look for effective eczema natural remedies that work not just during winter but throughout the year.
