Generally anxiety is caused by fears and worries. Feeling inferior, major illness, traumatic experiences, and work stress can also make you feel anxious. Those are some of the contributing factors happening everyday that may result in an anxiety.

A mild anxiety problem can be treated by just listening to a relaxing music, real quiet time alone or by having natural remedies right from the kitchen like tea. However, treating an anxiety disorder depends on the patient's characteristics and the nature of the disorder. Some of the natural remedies for anxiety are the following:

  • Balanced diet
  • Daily exercise
  • Deep breathing
  • Water therapy
  • Aromatherapy
  • Taking vitamin and mineral supplements
  • Eliminating or limiting caffeine intake
  • Clearing your mind and getting plenty of rest

Social Anxiety Disorder - Triggered by some social factors such as humiliation, embarrassment, and fear. It is also known as social phobia. When you are having social anxiety disorder you may experience confusion, diarrhea or constipation, excessive sweating, muscle tension, palpitation, nausea, shaky hands or shaky voice.

Generalized Anxiety Disorder - Described as feeling anxious with no valid reason or being irrational. The common physical symptoms of generalized anxiety are stomach pains, shortness of breath, insomnia or trouble in sleeping, trembling or muscle tension, irritability, impatience, headaches, frustration, and trouble concentrating.

Other types of anxiety disorders are Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), characterized by unpleasant or distressing thoughts that may become obsessions and/or by a compulsive behavior; Phobias, an irrational fear of certain animals, activities, people, things and situation; and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), a disorder developed after seeing or experiencing a traumatic event.
