I was in the middle of some serious gaming when all of the sudden my xbox froze. I was in shock. Is it possible for Microsoft to make something that works? I was not sure what the problem was but after some quick research I quickly learned the problem and was able to fix the xbox myself. From the moment I began working on the xbox in less than an hour I was back to some serious gaming once again.

Two Common Problems:

1. Two Many Computations At Once

With four players going at once for hours on end the serious gamer is asking a lot of the xbox system.  All the graphics and all the sounds over hours at a time stresses the system to the max, the xbox overheats and shuts down.  All devices do this when pushed to the limit.  It is not yet a serious problem.  A quick solution is to take the gaming console and place it in front of an open windor or door and allow it cool down.  That worked for me at first.  I even grabbed a towel and placed the towel in the freezer for ten minutes and then wrapped it around the console.  But this overheating may be a sign of a greater problem.

2.  Internal Hardware Burning Up

A more serious problem is the lack of faulty cooling systems within the xbox console.  Your xbox will display three red lights also known as the red rings of death.  Your xbox needs surgery or it will die.  This was my problem and about one third of all xbox units will have this problem.  The good news I discovered was that I did not have to mail my console into Microsoft or to Best Buy and get charged lots of money to fix something simple. I was able to fix and repair my xbox all on my own in under an hour.  With a few simple household tools I saved my xbox and Microsoft did not get any more of my money!
