I was skeptical at first, I'll be the first to admit that to anyone. I had already been nailed to the cross so to speak by so many other trash heap products that did not deliver my need. I finally knew what it was that I needed and that was skills, knowledge and know-how.

Man did I need them BAD. Two weeks prior I barely knew how to use my computer. I remember asking my nephew about this gig. I would facetiously joke with him about what a computer is. Well I see a television thing, (monitor) what kind of looks like a typewriter, (keyboard) and some sort of foot pedal. (mouse) He would laugh hysterically at me thinking his uncle was the dumbest push over on the planet. Sure I knew what a computer was and I loved to joke about my unskilled abilities using one. However, my jokes were sometimes not to far from the truth.

I knew Jack and you know what about the Internet! And Jack left town! Where the hell would I learn this stuff at? Technology is way far away for the likes of me. It's so advanced now and I'm so far behind what's the point in even trying?

That's how I used to think. When my journey began I remember thinking there had to be some simple gig i could do which would make me some decent scratch. I mean hell man, I see the news all the time about some teenage punk that uses his computer to earn more then his parents incomes combined almost weekly. If some kid can do it why can't a bum of an old man learn. The Internet is supposed to be this place where money is just pouring from the walls and you only need a means to grab at it. There's plenty for everyone right? That's what they keep telling me at least.

Those kids by the way? They aren't the punks that I used to think they were. I've met some fairly learned individuals in my time and in many cases it's those kids that have more good manners and social etiquette then many adults. Talk about professionalism and reputation? The kids were the ones that taught me a few things about professionalism and smart business ethics.

I learned a great deal from members at Wealthy Affiliate alone. I began my "boot-camp" of Internet Marketing and figured with enough determination and desire that I could manage to fumble around with my computer quite well. I became somewhat skilled in only a few more weeks and was surprised at how easy some of the intimidating "tekkie" related things were. They were things that I would normally avoid.

The Wealthy Affiliate University was more then just an overwhelming experience for me, it was like an eye opening revelation. I was suddenly flooded with literally to much in the beginning. I had all these tools, all these members with great advice, and all this knowledge, guides, tutorials, ...it was information overload and I got overwhelmed my very first day. I probably wasted the entire night just surfing the site. The legendary WA members only forum was ridiculously packed with gold everywhere. The more I read the more flooded with information and knowledge I became.

Then I had the answer. A private message from another member giving me some coaching and kind advice that steered me back on my goal. I focused and began my journey onto the next stage.
