I want to take a moment to apologize to you on behalf of all of the individuals who had a negative impact on your life in the past that may have shaped your character.
After dealing with so many men, I realize there is a significant level of rage and anger that is more prevalent in today's current economic environment. What is often revealed behind the anger is the hurt and feeling of abandonment men feel when it comes to the first woman who was supposed to love them-mommy.
As a woman, if you have ever told your son he was stupid, you are accountable for his character today. If you ever said he would never amount to anything, you are responsible for a part of his journey. If you ever told him that he was just like his father, talked ill of his father in front of him, you were a contributor for where he stands.
But men, you must realize that you cannot use your childhood circumstances as justification for inappropriate behavior. At some point, you become accountable for your actions. How do we turn the tides on where our men stand in society today? If the women won't support them, who will? Ladies, I'm not even going to ask you to reflect on the past, but if you have a young son today, can you begin to impart positivity instead of speaking negativity over his life. Life and DEATH is in the power of the tongue-what are you saying? Men, if no one ever tells you they love, support, and/or appreciate you, will you stand up and be a man? Moving forward and letting go of the past is the ONLY way we are going to survive as a society.
When we decide to empower our men instead of tearing them down, we will grow together as a society. So I encourage you, please accept my apology on behalf of every individual who did not build you up but tore you down. Now I ask of you, to search your hearts and decide if you are willing to be a better individual even if no one ever tells you anything positive. I promise you this, you must begin by believing in yourself and others will join you in the journey.
