Here are some muscle building tips to insure you create a physically attractive physique. What do I mean by physically attractive? I'm talking adding muscle without excess body fat. I realize that different people have extremely different views of what is attractive and what isn't, but I can't write one article that will please everyone.
Muscle Building Tips to Get The Hollywood Look
Tip #1 - Always train on an empty stomach.
Why do you want to train on empty if you are trying to gain muscle? Well, intense exercise done on an empty stomach increases your body's release of HGH. HGH is a potent fat burning hormone that also spares lean muscle mass. This is an amazing way to increase muscle while dropping body fat.
Tip #2 - Wait one hour after training before eating anything.
If fat loss is your main goal then take in a protein shake one hour after training. After that, eat a healthy normal sized meal with a decent amount of high quality protein. If gaining muscle is your primary goal, eat a large meal one hour after training, then a small to medium size meal after that. Why wait an hour? Your body is still releasing HGH and burning body fat up to an hour after intense exercise.
Tip #3 - Get just enough food without eating excess calories.
You don't want to do the "bulk and cut" approach, because most likely you won't get as lean as you desire once summer hits. The best long-term approach is to eat barely above maintenance or even below maintenance, but overload your muscles to insure a size increase. Muscle size increase is more about training and less about nutrition than most experts would have you believe.
Tip # 4 - Don't forget to add in interval cardio to burn fat and reveal your muscles
I recommend year round cardio even when trying to add muscle. Nothing ruins a physique worse than gaining 20 pounds of fat in addition to 10 pounds of muscle. Gaining body fat also creates a pudgy face. Your face looks best when you are lean, so best to stay lean year round while gaining muscle. If you don't believe me check out the faces of bodybuilders in the off-season. No need to train like a bodybuilder, because most of those guys look terrible.
Tip # 5 - You may wind up lighter than you first projected.
Almost every guy I have met underestimates how light they will be when they are trying to get ripped. Even if you add muscle, you will most likely wind up light on the scale, but LOOK much bigger. It is kind of a strange phenomenon.
