Endowed with a wonderful location at the confluence of three mountain streams- Mudrapuzha, Nalathanni and Kundala, Munnar is a famous hill station of Kerala. Situated at an altitude of 1600 m, this tourist destination is renowned for its picturesque landscape, gorgeous tea and coffee gardens and exotic flora and fauna.
For a nature lover, Munnar is the perfect holiday destination as it offers beautiful and peaceful environment. It offers picture-perfect views of the hills, low-flying clouds and misty valleys. Sheer scenic beauty combined with a pleasant climate make Munnar a paradise for tourists.
Tea gardens:
It is one of the most enchanting attractions, which is a must-see on itineraries of almost all tourists. Their scenic beauty and aroma never fail to capture the hearts of tourists. You can also visit the tea factories at the estates where you can see how raw tea leaves are processed.
Unique to Munnar and the hills across Western Ghats, Neelakurinji is a beautiful shrub whose flowers are blue in color. It flowers every twelve years. At one point of time these beautiful flowers used to bloom in great numbers at the Nilgiris.
Eravikulam National Park
Located only 16 km from Munnar, Eravikulam National Park is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. Rich in flora and fauna, the Park is a home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Another attraction of the Park is the Atlas Moth, the largest moth in the world. The Park also houses Anamudi Peak, which is the highest peak of South India. It offers picture-perfect views of the surroundings.
Devikulam
It is a fascinating hill station located only 7 km from Munnar. Apart from the scenic beauty, this destination is famous for its Devikulam Lake known to possess curative powers.
