Most Grammy Awards Won - Stevie Wonder, Alison Krauss, and U2

A Grammy award is a prestigious music award that is given out for various categories such as album of the year, record of the year, best new artist, and song of the year. The awards are held every year and every music artists strives to win or even be nominated to win a Grammy award. The Grammy award winner receives a gold gramophone trophy and receives recognition for having won a musical achievement. Two solo artists hold records for winning the most Grammy's, and they are Stevie Wonder and Alison Krauss. Stevie Wonder has 22 trophies, and Alison Krauss has 26 gramophone trophies. The group that has won the most Grammy's is U2 with 22 trophies.

Stevie Wonder is a musical legend that produces music in genres such as R&B, funk, Motown, psychedelic, and soul. He started his musical career in 1961 and still continues on strong. He records under the label Tamla-Motown. He's had numerous number one singles such as "Fingertips," "Superstition" and, "I Just Called to Say I Love You" to name a few. He has also had three number one albums and many other chart toppers that came in as number two and four on the charts. He won his first Grammy in 1973 and continued to win many more throughout the years.

Alison Krauss is best known for her country bluegrass music. Her musical career started in 1983 and she records under the label Rounder. Not only does she have a beautiful voice, but she also writes songs, produces music, and plays the fiddle. Her most recent endeavor is performing with the band Union Station, and they also have a bluegrass sound. You may remember one of her earlier number one hits called, "When You Say Nothing At All." She has performed songs during the Olympics and her music has been in Hollywood hit movies such as O Brother Where Art Thou.

U2's music can be heard throughout the world, and the group is definitely worthy of winning Grammy's and holding the record for the group with the most coveted gold gramophone trophies. They have had numerous number one hits singles and albums. The group is made up of members Larry Mullen, Bono, Adam Clayton, and The Edge. They are all from Dublin, Ireland originally. They record under the labels Island, Mercury, and Interscope. Their latest album released this year is called, "No Line On the Horizon." They have released other great albums such as "Achtung Baby" and "The Joshua Tree."
