While Missouri might not be the first place you think of when you think of a relaxing spa environment, the truth is that there are many amazing Missouri spa escapes nestled throughout the state.

The Elms Resort and Spa is located in Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Excelsior Springs is a short drive from Kansas City, so the Spa is easy to reach for those flying in. Shuttle service is available from the airport for a small fee. The Elms has multiple guestrooms in various sizes, so whether you just need a place to relax at night or you need a Bridal or Presidential suite, there is something for you. All rooms are equipped with wireless internet and cable TV. There is also a coffee maker and refrigerator in each room for your convenience. The spa is over 10,000 square feet and has won several awards. Aromatherapy massages followed by a rainwater shower are one of the spa’s specialties. You can also enjoy the extensive grounds with pools, bocce ball, bike rental, volleyball and horseshoes. The Elms is reasonably priced, with rooms rates ranging from $94 dollars to $334 for the Presidential suites per night. For more information, call 1-800-THE ELMS or (816) 630-5500.

The Big Cedar Resort is located near Branson, Missouri. It is on the Table Rock Lake. Big Cedar Resort is affiliated with Bass Pro Shops and as such, one can expect quality when arriving at the resort. Couples should consider the private log cabins. These are located in the woods or along the lake front. You can cook out on the gas grill or in the full-equipped kitchen. The cabins also have decks so you can enjoy the scenery with your partner. For an added romantic touch, there are fireplaces and whirlpool baths in each cabin. There are a number of other room options to choose from, and you will be able to find one that suits your personal preferences easily. Big Cedar offers a comprehensive spa menu, including massages, wraps, manicures, pedicures, face treatments and body polishes. They have special massages for pregnant women, and even have specific spa treatments for children and teenagers. For more information, call 1-800-BCLODGE.

The Lodge of Four Seasons is located at Lake of the Ozarks. The resort is located on the water and has many activities for visitors to partake in. Spa Shiki, located onsite, combines American and Japanese spa techniques for a soothing spa experience. For reservations, you can call 1-800-The-Lake.

Although most spas in Missouri are located outside of major cities, traveling for your Missouri spa getaway should not be difficult. There are airports located in Kansas City and Saint Louis. Smaller regional airports, such as the one in Springfield, often will bring visitors closer to their destination. Car rental services are available at the airport, and many resorts provide shuttle service for those with reservations.

Missouri spa getaways are perfect for the couple who wants to enjoy outdoor activities and romantic evenings together. Missouri’s resorts offer a blend of exciting activities and soothing spa treatments. Single men and women will also enjoy the relaxing ambience of a Missouri spa getaway.
