Mineral Revitalization Water Purification Systems For Your Home

There are a number of different products that may be referred to as mineral revitalization water purification systems. Some are good. Others are not so good. Some are good but cost more than they need to. Let's take a look at them all.

One of the mineral revitalization water purification systems contains a reverse osmosis step that removes minerals, so in order to provide something tasty and healthy, they "re-mineralize". Depending on the groundwater in your area, you may have a healthy and tasty content of minerals, already. A system of this type is usually only necessary for homes with well-water that has a brackish taste or a high salt content.

If you have a natural or artesian spring, you should have your waters tested in order to see what contaminants are present. Filtration may be completely unnecessary, or you may need to take a variety of steps. But, it is likely that reverse osmosis mineral revitalization water purification systems would not be the right choice, if only, because they are expensive and wasteful.

Another of the mineral revitalization water purification systems does a really good job, but is more expensive than necessary. The company uses "rare" stones from Japan to "enhance and imbue" your waters with health-giving antibacterial qualities. There is no scientific evidence to support these claims.

People who are serviced by public treatment facilities have a variety of issues to deal with. Chlorine content, lead, THMs and VOCs are among them. Another problem is that they use reverse osmosis, which de-mineralizes groundwater, so they may take steps to add minerals back in, or they may not. Most desalination plants do, but it is basically a company choice.

If you are serviced by a treatment facility, you may want to consider one of the mineral revitalization water purification systems that include ion exchange. During this phase, traces of lead ions are "exchanged" for harmless potassium.

Potassium is one of the minerals that we need on a daily basis for good health. It is not possible to get enough of it or any other necessary minerals by drinking water alone. So, when mineral revitalization water purification systems make claims about providing good health due to an enhanced content of minerals, they are not being completely truthful.

It has been shown that drinking distilled, which is also de-mineralized, causes chronic and long term health problems. When we drink waters that are absent of minerals, they are "stolen" from our bodies through the natural process of osmosis. So, while yes, it is better for your health to drink from mineral revitalization water purification systems, you still need to take your daily vitamins.

Price alone cannot be used to judge the quality of mineral revitalization water purification systems. The ones that use RO are the most expensive. The ones with the rare rocks come in second. The best for people with access to public waters contain activated carbon to remove chlorine and chemicals, multi-media blocks which target contaminants such as VOCs and THMs, micron filters that remove bacterial cysts resistant to chlorination and ion exchange to remove lead and balance pH levels and minerals.

The price of mineral revitalization water purification systems of this type vary depending on whether you want it for the kitchen or the bath, but they are all very affordable and worth every penny.

For the most cost effective and healthy solution to ensure a clean, pure and safe supply of water throughout your home, consider a water filtration system. Find out more about the finest water filtration options for your home at http://www.waterpurificationadvisor.com
