Methods to Find Out If Someone is Married

Have you ever been on a date in which you were caught off guard with the information that the person was married? And, to top it all off, it was not your date that told you. When you really like someone, it can sometimes cause you to ignore details that don't seem to add up. So, if you want to know how to find out if someone is married, follow these steps:

1. Ask your dates friends

If you have the opportunity to be around some of your date's friends, ask them the question. This would seem to be an obvious method to find out if someone is married, yet many people fail to actually take this step. Ask their friends simple questions about your date and your date's background. If your date's friends seem to be uncomfortable with your questions or they don't answer them, it may be a sign that something is not correct.

If your date is really married, they may not actually bring you around their friends. If this is the case, there is definitely something not right about the situation.

2. Just ask the person

This is normally a question that is asked in the initial date. Ask, 'are you married' and 'have you ever been married' when you initially meet someone. Observe their answers. If anything does not seem right, you can always search further when you get home online. It is unlikely that someone who is married would actually answer the question when asked correctly. But, you certainly will have the opportunity to watch the way that they respond to the question.

3. Ask Questions

Most people have a hard time lying. In fact, they will often have a tell or a series of tells that can be observed when they lie to questions they are being asked. Ask a series of questions, listen to the answers that the person gives to you and then observe their behavior. Do they seem nervous? Are they making eye contact while they are answering you? Are their eyes moving around while they are answering the questions? Are they answering the questions in a more circular pattern, meaning that they never actually answer the question directly that was asked of them? Watch the person's behavior and keep asking until you are satisfied one way or another.

4. Perform a Background Check

While background checks used to be something that only professionals could do, modern technology has made it not only simple to do online, but affordable. You can search for information about your date online using their full or part of their name. The search will be more accurate with more detailed information. So, if you know where the person grew up, anything about their career, their current zip code, names of siblings or parents, etc., you will have not only a more accurate search, but you will have a way to verify that the information that you pulled up is actually accurate.
