If you are really strapped for cash, some of the marketing idea's mentioned in the first article may not be for you. So you are looking for some free ways to get your business noticed on the web.
One thing which I have found that all the Guru's and anyone giving advice about marketing a business on the Internet is Keywords, these are words that the search engines respond to. To do this you need to acquaint yourself with the Keywords that aptly describe your business. I have found if you go into some websites there is a list of Keywords on the site. Jot these down, they may be the one's that you need. I could give you my Keywords, but they may be inappropriate for your business. So for this you need to do your own research.
Be aware though too not to over use these in your sales pitch as they could be miss construed as spam. So it is to balance your use of these words in your advertising or sales Pict. Look at the sentence above for an example of over use of a word.
If you don't like writing this may not be for you, unless you have already found someone to outsource your writing to. But if you like writing then you may want to look at article writing. Ezine, this site, is one of the many available sites where you can submit your articles to. Each has their own criteria as to what you can and cannot do, but all articles published on their sites, which are on the web and the search engines, will be looking at these too. If you do have an article rejected, go back to the piece it could be something simple to fix, they usually tell you what the problem is. Like over use of Keywords, or the same word, or maybe the website or link you've used is not acceptable. These are easily rectified, by editing the article and resubmitting it.
It will not cost you anything other than your time or the time it takes to write an article. Do take note though if copying from your sales pages or other resources, to change the wording, you do not want to be found to be plagarising. (I will often copy something read through it, then rewrite it in my own words, so that it essentially says what the original says, but uses either different words, or a different use of words).
If you have to use someone's exact words, always remember to "use comma's" which donates the use of the saying or piece, and remember to put a Ref: "xyz" - from (and make a note of where it came from). This is placed at the end of your article.
If you already belong to a social network, like Face Book, Twitter or one of the many others, you can put your website or blog site into your profile, so that all your "friends" can see it, and if you want although I wouldn't do it too often, but share with your "friends" that you have a website or blog site. You can also do this on some of the chat sites, although just make sure beforehand, read through the terms, some may not allow you to do so.
Depending on your type of business, you could even put a magnetic sign onto your car, one that won't destroy the paintwork. As you drive around your city, town, people will see it. Although this may not bring you a lot of business, you never know, the guy in the traffic jam may be looking for what you are advertising.
Do some searches on the internet there are companies that offer free lists, in that they will send out your advertisement to their lists free, there are other free forms of advertising on the web, it boils down to doing your research, noting or bookmarking the most promising and then you making contact to find out what they can do for you, to help you grow your business, and to get to the serious part of making money.
